Op. Dr. Akif Aksoy is a specialist in ear, nose and throat diseases. He has concentrated his surgical practice on rhinoplasty and nasal health, and sees patients at his own clinic in Altınordu, Ordu.
Born in Ankara in 1987, he completed his primary and secondary schooling there before continuing his high school education in Kahramanmaraş. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Atatürk University in Erzurum and completed his residency in Otorhinolaryngology at Eskişehir Osmangazi University.
He carried out his compulsory public health service at Ordu Gölköy State Hospital. He then worked as an ENT specialist at a private hospital in Ordu, and now practises at his own clinic.
Certificate of proficiency
In April 2016, Op. Dr. Akif Aksoy passed the written and oral examinations of the Turkish Board of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and was awarded its certificate of proficiency.
The phrase "Board Certificated ENT Surgeon" used on this site refers to that certificate. It was issued by the Turkish proficiency board and is not the same as American board certification.

Approach
The nose sits at the centre of the face and is at the same time the first stage of the airway. These two functions are considered together in planning: the airway is protected while appearance is addressed, and appearance is respected while the airway is corrected.
At examination the nose is assessed both externally and endoscopically; surgical planning does not begin before the source of the complaint has been established. Because realistic expectations directly affect how acceptable a result feels, what is possible and what is not is stated plainly during the pre-operative consultation.
